What is Turkish Draughts?
Turkish Draughts, also known as Dama, is a strategic board game that differs from traditional checkers in a key way—pieces move and capture vertically and horizontally rather than diagonally. This change in movement mechanics adds new layers of strategy, making the game both challenging and rewarding.
With the availability of online multiplayer modes, you can compete against real opponents worldwide, play locally on the same device, or challenge an AI. Additionally, Turkish Draughts allows spectators to watch live games and even predict the next moves on the board, adding an interactive element to the experience.
How to Play Turkish Draughts
Game Setup – The game is played on an 8×8 board with each player starting with 16 pieces.
Movement Rules – Unlike standard checkers, pieces move and capture in straight lines (vertically and horizontally) instead of diagonally.
Capturing Opponent’s Pieces – When an opponent’s piece is in the path of your piece with an open space beyond it, you must capture it by jumping over it.
Multiple Captures – If possible, you can continue capturing in a single turn by making consecutive jumps.
