What is Chesstacle?
Chesstacle is a captivating puzzle game that blends the elegance of chess with the thrill of solving intricate tactical and strategic challenges. Unlike traditional chess, where players face off against each other, Chesstacle presents you with a pre-designed position where you play both sides – the white pieces and the black pieces.
The objective of Chesstacle is to find a series of moves that lead to a winning position for the side you are playing. The puzzle will specify which side you need to guide to victory – either the white pieces or the black pieces. The game challenges you to think several moves ahead, analyze different lines of play and determine the most effective sequence of moves.
Game Rules
To play Chesstacle, you must guess a sequence of moves that includes the best opening move, your opponent's best answer, and your winning move.
Moves are entered in algebraic notation, which is a standard way of representing chess moves on the board by using letters and numbers. "Nf3" means move the knight to f3, whereas "d4" means move the pawn to d4.
After each guess, the game delivers feedback by altering the color of the tiles on the board. Green tiles indicate that a piece is in the right location, yellow tiles indicate that it is on the right rank or file but in the wrong square, and red tiles indicate that it is not on the right rank or file.
A capture is represented by the "X" sign, and a pawn promotion is represented by the "=" symbol, followed by the piece to which the pawn is promoted. "a8=Q" indicates that the pawn on a8 should be moved to a queen on a8.
