Quolture

What is Quolture?

Quolture is a new online game based on the success of Wordle. It, like Moviedle, Box Office Game, and Framed, is a daily movie-themed game that allows participants to explore and learn more about the film being exhibited. Each puzzle is divided into two sections. In the first round, you must guess which movie a quote comes from. The second section focuses on television shows.

Quolture will show a movie, followed by a television series. Unlike prior games, there are no specific letters for which you must strategize. Instead, you must find the solution as a whole. However, there are techniques such as "reveal a random letter" (which you can apply indefinitely with consequences) and two hints.

Game Rules

How to Play Quolture, on the other hand, allows you an infinite number of attempts but does not tell which letters are accurate, even if they are in the correct positions. To win, a player must complete the problem in its entirety.

You must make an educated estimate as to which movie or television show the quote is from. You can keep opening the letters until you find the solution, and there are more hints to help you along the way. This challenge can be difficult for the player if they are unable to produce a quote; however, Quolture provides some additional tools to help them. Gamers can request up to two additional quote hints, or they can simply fill in the appropriate letter one at a time until they get it.

Scoring

The number of letters displayed determines your score, however, the two tips are free. So put them to work! The lower the score, as in golf, the better. If you reveal no letters and still obtain the correct answer, you get a perfect score regardless of whether you take the two clues. With both clues plus a few letters, I had no idea what the movie was in the case below. My final movie score was eight since I exposed eight letters before correctly guessing. With the TV show, though, I only needed one tip to figure it out.

In both cases, I'd never seen the quote in the media, but that didn't stop the enjoyment. If you know what shows are popular, you can read between the lines.
