Squabble
Squabble is a battle royale/Wordle hybrid in which you compete against a swarm of other players who are all attempting to complete a series of Wordle-style challenges faster than you. You have health points that deplete over time but can be replenished by correctly solving the puzzle. Finally, there can only be one (cue lightning).
As you might expect, it's a lot more stressful than the regular game, though the added excitement of seeing your enemies fall on the battlefield get crossed out with a big red "X" mark adds to the excitement.
There are two basic game modes: Blitz and Classic. In Blitz, you compete against up to four other players. With a maximum of 99 players, Battle Royale is a massive battle.
Squabble allows you to create your own game or join an existing one. Finding a game to play was simple in my experience. You can even watch a replay of the game to analyze your pitiful mistakes and glorious tactical choices.
A dark mode and a colorblind mode are available in the settings, and a "Coming Soon" section promises better support for phones and tablets, improved matchmaking, solo and daily modes, and more.
How can I play Squabble?
Squabble is still in its beta version, so the website can be a little glitchy. But to access it, go to word hurdle.co on a computer browser. (Unfortunately, it is not yet supported on mobile devices.)
Once you're on the homepage, you can either click on "BLITZ" (if you're looking for a quick game) or "SQUABBLE ROYALE" (for more of a tournament-style experience).
