Taylordle
What is Taylordle?
Taylordle, which is similar to Wordle but features words associated with the singer, was announced on Friday, Jan. 28 by the Holy Swift podcast hosts. Here's how to play Taylordle, a game that gives the song "Blank Space" a whole new meaning.
Wordle is a free-to-play online word game. Players must correctly guess a five-letter word in six attempts. The game uses colored tiles to reveal which letters were entered correctly with each attempt. (I'll explain later.) Every 24 hours, the game is refreshed.
Swifties' unofficial Wordle is Taylordle. It's similar to Wordle in that it gives players six chances to correctly guess a secret five-letter word using colored tiles, but only one new word is added each day. Taylordle is distinct from Wordle in that the qualifying five-letter words are associated with Swift and her music. In a tweet, Holy Swift stated, "All of the words are part of the Swiftie universe."
Game Rules
You can do the same with Wordle. You'll have six chances to correctly guess a five-letter word related to the singer. If you type in "music," for example, you'll know whether any of the letters you used are in the word or not based on whether they're highlighted in green, yellow, or gray.
Green indicates that a letter is present in the secret word and is in the proper position. Yellow indicates that the letter is present in the word but is in the wrong place. Finally, gray indicates that the letter does not appear anywhere in the word. While the standard game is challenging enough, some players go even further by using Wordle on hard mode.
When you're finished, share your results on Twitter to see how you stack up against other Swifties. If you don't get the message today, there's always tomorrow. As Taylor Swift once said, "Shake It Off."
